For deep investigations to depths up to 18m using radar, Geotech Russia has expanded the OKO line of GPR with the new OKO-3 GPR with the Triton-M deep antenna unit ,utilizes optional low-frequency high power dipoles (frequency range 100, 50, 25MHz).

OKO-3 is the latest generation of high-performance GPR, providing 3 times faster sounding and improved radarogram quality. The OKO-3 series is used for a wide range of studies. The new radar with the unshielded unit Triton-M has a central frequency of 50/100 MHz and is intended for geophysical surveys under linear objects and engineering structures, as well as for geological work requiring an increase in depth. The main purpose is to carry out GPR surveys on rough terrain and in difficult operating conditions.

The major advantages of Triton-M are its small dimensions due to the collapsible design, as well as ease of assembly. The antenna unit consists of 2 sub-segments that fit into the convenient transport case included in the kit. These segments make it possible to change the central frequency of sounding between 50 MHz and 100 MHz.

Another advantage of the GPR is that its monoblock is equipped with a WI-FI module. This allows you to wirelessly control the OKO-3 from any Android or Windows device.

Features:

Unshielded antenna unit;

Possibility of varying the central frequency of sounding — 50/100MHz;

Maximum sounding depth up to 14/18 m;

Depth resolution from 0.5 to 1 m;

Power consumption — 3.6 W;

Collapsible 2-piece construction;

Deep studying;

Geological exploration;

Geophysical surveys under linear objects and engineering structures.

Geological works requiring an increase in depth — surveying on rough terrain and in difficult operating conditions.

The «OKO-3» GPR with the Triton-M antenna unit is available for order. The kit is provided with a warranty of up to two years, as well as post-warranty service.

FEATURES

• Measuring acoustic wave velocity

• Working with different modes of vibration

• Can be used in a downhole version

• Easy and user-friendly interface

• Automatic data processing

• Several languages option (Russian, English)

• Specially designed for a variety of weather conditions

• Free training

• After-sales service

• Consulting webinars.

Pile length measuring method

The method is based on measuring the response time for the signal reflected from the other end of pile or from obstacles inside the pile that emerge due to its inhomogeneity. The lenght is calculated based on the known speed of primary wave for various types of piles and measured response time. The source of primary waves is a special hammer; the seismic pick up serves as a pick up of elastic vibration.

Software IMPACT (Better analysis than ordinary Pile software)

The software is used for automotive basic plates thickness, possible defects detection, survey the plate and soil engagement condition.

PILEMETER Software

Specialized PILEMETER software provides automated detection of the length of a pile or rate of the acoustic wave in the pile, and, more importantly, allows one to collect this necessary data easily and clearly. This Specialized software also helps to determine the thickness and defects of piles using the Impact Echo Principle.

It also..

Once the longitudinal wave velocity in the pile is defined, this software determines the length, integrity and localizing defects of piles.

The OKO-3 GPR is a portable lightweight low-prices system designed for non-destructive environmental monitoring. The OKO-3 GPR includes the control unit and antennas. All antennas are interchangeable and meet the needs of a broad range of applications.

The control unit is designed for control of all GPR operating modes. CU are manufactured in two types – one channel (one antenna unit can be connected) and two channel (possible to connect two antenna units)..

The control unit receives notebooks’ orders via Ethernet interface or Wi-Fi channel, processes antenna units’ current set-up and send it via RS-422 interface to antenna unit, sends to antenna commands for operational mode, receives data from the antenna unit, arrange secondary data processing, transfers the data after processing to via Ethernet interface to notebook.

GPR ANTENNAS

Antennas covers frequencies from 50 MHz for deep geological surveying to up to 2500 MHz for high‐resolution investigations. Using low‐frequency antennas, one can increase the depth of sounding.If high resolution scanning of the near surface section is required, though, it is advisable to use high‐frequency antennas. A combination of antennas with different frequencies yields best results.

Programmable external amplifiers

ARMT-5 complex is designed for implementation of a variety of electric survey methods: AMT, CSAMT, CSEM, RMT, CSRMT. Its wide frequency range (0.1 Hz–1 MHz) makes it possible to apply this tool to explore depths fr om first meters up to several kilometers for wide range of targets.

ARMT-5 recorder allows one to visualize data in real time in both time and frequency domains. To quality control, a robust estimator of tensor and scalar transfer functions (impedance and tipper) is built-in. The receiver has several useful features for a controlled source EM exploration. The receiver is equipped with a built-in sine signal generator for automatic calibration (including calibration of magnetic sensors) and programmable external amplifiers for magnetic and electrical sensors (gain: 1–256). Sophisticated functionality, application of the most up-to-date element base, good-quality connectors and case, large color screen, fast interfaces for downloading data from SSD drive, and other technical solutions make ARMT-5 modern, convenient and versatile broadband electromagnetic tool.

For ARMT-5 it is available a number of induction magnetic sensors:

ARMT-HF with operating frequency range 1–1 000 kHz

ARMT-MF with operating frequency range 20–20 000 Hz

ARMT-LF with operating frequency range 0.1–20 000 Hz

Magnetic MF and HF sensors are placed in a single plastic container with a bubble level and display for digital compass in its upper part. Antennas ARMT-LF can be additionally equipped with portable precision tripods, allowing, fast and accurate installation of sensors on any surface.

The estimated penetration depth of the ARMT-5 complex is presented in the table below. It depends on the frequency of the signal and the average electrical resistivity of investigated section:

An important feature of the complex is a high execution speed of observations when performing shallow studies due to implementation of automated and remote control of a controlled source (generator) over a radio channel. For example, in order to perform measurements with frequencies from 100 Hz and higher taking into account the time for spreading and assembly of measuring equipment at a point, it takes only about two minutes. Such speed of data acquisition is unattainable for other complexes and methods. For example, to perform VES at depths of about 300–500 m, it takes about half an hour, what is 10–20 times longer than working with ARMT-5. It is also important to understand that the inversion of ARMT-5 data can be performed both in 1D and 2D variants, and interpretation of VES data is carried out only for 1D model, what leads to an increase in the error of constructing the geoelectric section in a complex medium.

The high-impedance input of the preamplifier of electric channels realized in ARMT-5 allows to work with short (20 m) ungrounded lines at frequencies from 100 Hz and higher. This is especially useful when working in winter conditions or in arid areas, wh ere it is difficult to achieve acceptable grounding with conventional electrodes. When operating at frequencies from 0.1 Hz it becomes necessary to use longer (50–100 m) electric lines that are grounded by non-polarized or brass electrodes.

Problems that can be solved with ARMT-5:

Study of geological structure

Structural geographic mapping

Determination of rock depth

Mapping of karst structures, fracturing zones and zones of high humidity

Search for underground water

Monitoring of dangerous processes

Search, exploration and monitoring of hydro-therms

Permafrost studies

Environmental studies

Search and exploration of deposits of solid minerals

Search for oil and gas
